It’s the point at which you really learn to move at your own pace\, listen and respond to your body\, and develop greater consistency and frequency in your yoga practice. Practicing on your own empowers you and gives you new freedom to explore. But that freedom can be overwhelming until you’re comfortable with the tools at hand and know how to get from one place to another. DESCRIPTION:at Asheville Community Yoga \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOf the many props available for your yoga practice\, the wall is one of the most relatively available prop within our home and studio spaces. By offering comfort and support for the body to release in restorative postures. The wall provides stability\, balance\, and even the potential to deepen into a stretch. Encouraging more safety and greater security for the body when learning inversions\, as well as offering building blocks to variations. Arm balances can also find the support of the wall\, freeing us with each attempt of our fears and doubts within the mind. Helpful in finding alignment as well as a reminder to keep certain body parts active; the wall can enhance your overall practice.  \n\n\n\nDuring this two hour session we will utilize the studios wall space to investigate alignment principles\, stretching\, and support within the postures. Leaving with a well rounded exploration of the wall as a beneficial prop for our asana practice. Our journey at the wall may reveal the comfort of poses reclined\, seated\, standing\, balancing and inverting. You are not required to try each pose\, this is a workshop to encourage us to meet the practice where we need it. SUMMARY:Strong Core\, Happy Low Back w/ Sonya Burres
DESCRIPTION:It is estimated that up to 84 percent of adults have low back pain at some time in their lives.The good news means you are not alone! Lower back pain can happen for many differentreasons\, yet how we move\, sleep\, and sit can dramatically impact our backs’ health. Often\,proper balancing of the deep flexor muscles of the “core” with the extensor muscles of thelower back/pelvis can improve low back pain—and yoga is a wonderful medium for this tooccur! This two-hour workshop will give you some tools and practices to alleviate/prevent andtroubleshoot lower back pain. \n\n\n\nSonya Burres received her RYT-200hr teacher training in Los Angeles\, CA fromPure Flow Yoga in 2016. She has been teaching since and relocated to Asheville\,NC in January of 2022. \n\n\n\nSonya spent years as a gymnast\, which is the basis for her attention to alignmentand form. This workshop is designed to incorporate finding the strength of yourcore (not easy) while keeping your low back safe. DESCRIPTION:at Asheville Community Yoga \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAn array of things can contribute to tightness in the hips & hamstrings; running\, stress\, sitting\, even simple daily activities such as walking! We often carry patterns within our movements\, not all of which are good or healthy for our bodies. Restrictions within these regions can cause significant discomfort\, even pain.  \n\n\n\nBy better understanding our anatomy\, our postural & movement habits\, as well as the mechanics of Yoga poses\, we can begin to unravel held tension in the hips & hamstrings\, creating space for energy to flow more freely throughout the body. \n\n\n\nIn this playful workshop we will cover basic anatomy for these regions of the body to gain a better understanding of our own unique anatomical structure and how to support our individual needs. We’ll flow deeply in a yang style to create heat and length through the back line of the body as well as the full circumference of the hip. We’ll also rest into yin style postures to target the joints and connective tissues. Throughout the workshop we will utilize props to support all levels of practice. \n\n\n\n You’ll learn how to strengthen and stabilize in order to find more flexibility and freedom in this powerful region of the body.
