SUMMARY:Embracing Darkness\, Welcoming Light: A New Year’s Womxn's Ritual w/ Meredith Rosenbluth
DESCRIPTION:Embracing Darkness\, Welcoming Light:\nA New Year’s Womxn’s Ritual for Releasing and Receiving\nWhile January 1 is the designated new year in the Gregorian calendar\, it remains seasonally and energetically the dead of winter—a time to turn inwards\, rest\, compost\, and reflect. \nIn being with what was\, we can begin to call in what will be. In attuning to the rhythms of nature\, we can give ourselves permission to be unhurried in this process. \nIn this womxn’s gathering\, we will co-create ritual space to tend to ourselves and each other at this turn of the wheel of the year. This ritual circle will include: \n• Building a collaborative altar• Contemplative journaling• Personal sharing of reflections from your 2025 and witnessing others’• Gently guided time to seed-plant intentions for 2026• Somatic practices to release stuck tension and emotions from the body• Group singing/chanting• Compassionately held and facilitated space to serve you in your personal integration of 2025 and orientation to 2026 \nRitual is a sacred\, intentional\, embodied practice of slowing time. It is a choosing to direct attention; to commune with oneself\, ancestors\, energies\, symbols\, and spirit. We need these containers to envision and manifest\, process and honor\, alchemize and release. \nIn this ritual circle\, we welcome:• Authenticity and vulnerability• Non-judgment towards self and others• Agency in participation and non-participation (each practice as invitation\, not requirement)• The full spectrum of human emotion• Honoring confidentiality of what is shared in the container \n \nMeredith is devoted to cultivating attuned\, grounded\, vulnerable\, and joyful spaces to foster meaningful connection and transformation. All of you is welcome\, exactly as you are in any given moment\, always. A somatic emotional health coach and astrologer\, Meredith offers individual coaching\, breathwork\, and group programs through her private practice. SUMMARY:Quintessential Pranayama w/ Leaflin Winecoff
DESCRIPTION:This is a workshop about pranayama\, or breath control\, the 4th limb of yoga as described by Patanjali. \nBreath can be seen as a foundational medicine\, and is truly the gateway between the unconscious and the conscious; the body and the spirit. Pranayama practices have huge potential to increase the quality of our daily lives in profound ways\, and are a great way to prepare the body and mind for deeper meditation (the 7th of Patanjali’s limbs!). \nIn these 90 minutes\, we will cover 5 essential types of breath practices that correlate with different archetypal energies: Calming\, Balancing\, Energizing\, Clearing\, and Attuning. We will spend plenty of time gaining understanding of each breath\, as well as have an opportunity to meditate silently after each exercise in order to experience and absorb the unique effects of each practice. \nYou will leave with a deeper understanding of some classic and esoteric breath practices\, and a practical pranayama toolkit that you can take with you everywhere you go! \nLeaflin teaches a weekly donation-based Gentle Flow Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:15pm. To learn more about her\, please see her teacher profile here! \n  \n \nCost: $25 per personFinancial Aid Available- Please stop by the front desk\, call\, or email kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org. \nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming.
