SUMMARY:The Power of Sensitivity: The Science\, Challenges\, and Gifts of Being a Highly Sensitive Person w/ Meredith Rosenbluth
DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if registering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registration\, or financial aid\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org  \n  \nHigh sensitivity is a real thing. It’s not you being “too much\,” overly emotional\, or unnecessarily dramatic; it is a neurobiological trait that exists within 15-20% of the total population! We just aren’t taught about it\, and don’t live in a world set up to support those of us who experience the world this way. \nHigh sensitivity shows up through multiple pathways: depth of feeling\, complex mental processing\, sensory sensitivity\, and more. Do you know that you’re a highly sensitive person? Aren’t sure\, but think you might be? Know you aren’t\, but have people in your life who are? Great! This workshop is for all of you. \nThrough this workshop\, you will:✨ Learn why high sensitivity exists and how it is neurobiologically wired✨ Assess your personal degree and types of high sensitivity✨ Learn about the nuances of high sensitivity\, including the four distinct categories within the sensitivity trait✨ Explore the differences and overlaps between high sensitivity\, ADHD\, and autism✨ Have time to share personal experiences of being highly sensitive—challenges\, things you love\, life hacks you’ve developed—and receive wisdom from others✨ Gain practical tools and strategies to support your unique needs—in relationships\, environmentally\, and structurally in life✨ Feel belonging in kindred community and more confident navigating the world as a highly sensitive person \nIt can be deeply frustrating\, confusing\, and painful to experience life so wide open. It can also be profoundly beautiful and enriching. The key lies within knowing that:1) nothing is wrong with you2) high sensitivity actually contains so many amazing gifts\, and 3) you have different needs and ways of processing than the majority of people\, which deserve to (and can!) be supported. \nThrough this workshop\, you’ll get to learn\, discuss\, and grow alongside those who are built quite like you. \n Testimonials from Meredith’s workshop\, The Somatics of Conflict: \n“I deeply respected the depth and breadth of Meredith’s knowledge and the gentle\, clear and highly accessible way she shared her wisdom\, both when she was talking and responding to questions and comments.” \n“Meredith did a great job at holding a strong container and explaining concepts clearly. She has a lovely\, kind\, and compassionate energy to her teaching. Meredith’s ability to blend together a safe\, supportive space with a grounding\, healing dialogue was a true gift.” \nMeredith Rosenbluth is a somatic emotional health coach\, breathwork practitioner\, and astrologer\, devoted to cultivating attuned\, grounded\, deep\, and joyful spaces to foster meaningful connection and transformation. She specializes in providing one-on-one support for creatives\, empaths\, and highly sensitive people. You can learn more about her 1:1 coaching and group programs here. \nFor more information on Meredith\, please see her teacher profile here! Meredith teaches a weekly donation-based Meditation on Wednesdays from 1:15pm-1:45pm. \nCost: $30Financial Aid Available- Please stop by the front desk\, call\, or email kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org. \n \n \nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming. Registering in advance guarantees your spot and helps the studio have adequate staffing. If fewer than 5 participants register the event may be canceled. \nRefund Policy: We understand that life happens and unforeseen circumstances come up. If life offers up an unexpected event and you need to withdraw from the workshop: \n\nA full refund will be issued if you need to withdraw 4+ days before the workshop. Please reach out for your refund\, as it will not be automatically applied to your account.\nIf you need to withdraw within 3 days or fewer\, no refund is provided.\n\nLate Policy: Doors will close at the workshop start time. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop start time to ensure there is ample time to park\, check in and settle in to your space. We do have a 10 minute grace period\, and we encourage you to call the studio to let us know if you are running behind. If you are later than 10 minutes after the start of the workshop\, there is a chance you will not be able to enter and no refund will be given.\n\nCapacity: Please note: Some workshops will fill to capacity of 28 students.

SUMMARY:The Odyssey Home: A Yoga Journey for the Solstice w/ Pashupa Goodwin
DESCRIPTION:The Odyssey Home is a winter solstice workshop built around the arc of Homer’s Odyssey — a hero’s journey through trial\, descent into darkness\, and return to light\, mapped onto the body on the longest night of the year. \nThe solstice marks the turning point where darkness peaks and light begins its slow return. The Odyssey follows the same shape: a hero who must sail through danger and descend into the underworld before he can find his way home. \nThis workshop doesn’t move around the dark half of that story — it moves through it\, the way the poem does\, using the practice to hold space for both the descent and the return. Students will be guided through six chapters of the myth\, each mapped to a different quality of movement: grounding and release with the Lotus-Eaters\, focused strength facing the Cyclops\, instinct and transformation on Circe’s island\, discernment between Scylla and Charybdis\, disciplined attention resisting the Sirens\, and — at the heart of the workshop — a long\, deep\, candlelit descent into the underworld itself\, before slowly rising back into the light as Odysseus returns to Ithaca. \nThe workshop opens with a short telling of the myth’s arc and a ceremonial pour of blue lotus tea\, echoing the moment in the story where the offer of the lotus flower lets the outside world soften away. It closes with a slow return to full light and a shared moment of reflection. \nThis is a workshop for anyone drawn to mythology\, ritual\, and the deeper turns of the year — no prior knowledge of the Odyssey is needed\, and no experience beyond a general comfort with a yoga practice. \n\nFor more information on Pashupa\, please see his teacher profile here. He teaches weekly donation-based Vinyasa Flow on Mondays 6pm-7pm. \nCost: $30 \nFinancial Aid Available- Please stop by the front desk\, call\, or email kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org. \n \n \n \nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming.
