SUMMARY:Vinyasa & Sound Bath to Embrace the Equinox w/ Timothy Burgin
DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if registering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registration\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org \n \nThe equinox marks a place of balance and a transition point. This shift from summer to autumn  is a natural time to align your practice with the changing rhythms of the earth\, to release excess of summer and prepare the body and mind for the quieter months ahead. \nWe will use asana and pranayama to support this shift by focusing on stability\, gratitude\, letting go and renewal. A hour long sound bath will follow the vinyasa sequence to further ground\, nourish\, calm\, and harmonize your body\, heart\, and mind. Sound baths promote deep release and relaxation\, and entrain our brainwaves to shift into a dreamlike state. \nLet yourself surrender and be bathed by the soothing sound waves of singing bowls\, gongs\, rainsticks\, tongue drums\, chimes\, and other sound healing instruments. \nTimothy teaches a donation-based weekly Vinyasa Flow on Sundays from 10:30am-11:30am. For more information on Timothy\, please see his teacher profile here! \nCost: $30Financial Aid Available- Please stop by the front desk\, call\, or email kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org. \n \n \nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming. Registering in advance guarantees your spot and helps the studio have adequate staffing. If fewer than 5 participants register the event may be canceled. \nRefund Policy: We understand that life happens and unforeseen circumstances come up. If life offers up an unexpected event and you need to withdraw from the workshop: \n\nA full refund will be issued if you need to withdraw 4+ days before the workshop. Please reach out for your refund\, as it will not be automatically applied to your account.\nIf you need to withdraw within 3 days or fewer\, no refund is provided.\n\nLate Policy: Doors will close at the workshop start time. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop start time to ensure there is ample time to park\, check in and settle in to your space. We do have a 10 minute grace period\, and we encourage you to call the studio to let us know if you are running behind. If you are later than 10 minutes after the start of the workshop\, there is a chance you will not be able to enter and no refund will be given. \n\nCapacity: Please note: Some workshops will fill to capacity of 28 students.

SUMMARY:Find Your Rhythm w/ Katbird Dunn
DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if registering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registration\, or financial aid\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org  \n \nA 90-minute experiential workshop using rhythm\, mindfulness\, and play to cultivate presence\, connection\, and emotional well-being. \n \nIn a world that moves fast and demands constant attention\, many of us lose touch with our natural rhythm. We spend our days thinking\, doing\, and reacting\, often leaving little space to simply be. Rhythm offers another way. \nAcross cultures and throughout history\, rhythm has brought people together. More than music\, rhythm is a shared human experience that invites us to listen\, respond\, adapt\, and connect.  \nHuman beings are naturally wired for presence\, connection\, creativity\, and play. Yet the pace of modern life often pulls us away from these qualities\, leaving us feeling rushed\, disconnected\, or overwhelmed.  This 90-minute experiential workshop invites you to slow down\, reconnect with your body\, and discover how tuning into musical rhythms naturally creates the conditions for your nervous system to settle. As we slow down together\, many of the qualities that are naturally part of being human—presence\, connection\, curiosity\, and joy—begin to emerge. Come as you are. Leave feeling more grounded\, more connected\, and more in rhythm with yourself. \nThis workshop is designed to be welcoming\, accessible\, and engaging for everyone. No musical experience is necessary. **All instruments are provided.** \nWhat to Expect \nThis is a hands-on\, experiential workshop where everyone participates. Together we will explore: * Simple rhythm instruction that makes participation easy for everyone * Progressive rhythm experiences that cultivate focus\, presence\, and regulation * Mindfulness practices that deepen awareness and embodiment * Grounding exercises that support nervous system regulation * Playful rhythm games that encourage laughter\, curiosity\, and authentic connection * Moments of reflection to help integrate the experience into everyday life \n \nThis isn’t about musical ability or performance. It’s about being present\, connecting with others\, and discovering what becomes possible when we slow down together.\n \n What You’ll Experience \nParticipants often leave with: * A calmer\, more settled nervous system * Greater presence and mindfulness * A deeper sense of connection with themselves and others * The freedom and joy that come from play * Increased confidence in their body’s natural capacity to regulate and restore balance * Practical experiences they can draw upon when life feels overwhelming \nWho This Is For \nThis workshop is for anyone who wants to: * Slow down and experience greater ease * Feel more grounded and present * Reduce stress and mental busyness * Connect with others in a fun\, supportive environment * Experience mindfulness through movement\, rhythm\, and play \nNo musical background or drumming experience is required. Accessible and inclusive for all ability levels \nFor more information on Katbird\, please see his teacher profile here! He teaches donation based Meditation weekly on Thursdays from 5:15-6pm. \nCost: $25Financial Aid Available- Please stop by the front desk\, call\, or email kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org. \n \n \nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming. SUMMARY:6 Week Series for Bone Health (In-Person & Virtual) w/ Diane Saccone
DESCRIPTION:Please note: This date refers to the first of 6 sessions. This course will occur over 6 consecutive Mondays from October 5th through November 9th from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Should you need to miss a session\, it will be recorded and accessible for 2 months. \nFrailty Syndrome is a term used to describe a body-wide set of interconnected issues including musculoskeletal\, cardiovascular\, metabolic and immunologic systems. This group of symptoms is related to the decline of health as we age either as a result of habit\, chronic disease or a combination of both. As we move less\, muscular weakness and atrophy set in\, which cascades to the nervous system\, causing the nervous system not to fire as efficiently because of the lack of muscles to stimulate into action. \nPoor habits\, social isolation and lifestyle contribute to accelerated aging as well as stress and a negative attitude on life. This series will incorporate yoga techniques and strength training to combat common results of Frailty Syndrome\, like Sarcopenia and Osteoporosis. \nSarcopenia- The loss of muscle mass\, where the muscles that die and are replaced by fat\, begins around the age of 30 along with loss of bone mineral density at the rate of 1% per year. \nOsteoporosis-The risk of bone fracture- increases due to the increasing loss of bone mineral density as we move past the age of 30.  \nYou will also learn how our sensory faculties work in concert to create efficient neuromuscular movement\, sensorimotor integration\, and musculoskeletal activation. We will examine how the brain integrates and processes information and input from the visual\, sensory\, and vestibular systems and how yoga and functional fitness can help us enhance neuromuscular integration to maintain stability and mobility throughout our lives. \nAdditional skills we will learn include: \n\nThe importance of proprioception\, especially how the proprioceptively rich palms of the hands and soles of the feet play a key role in establishing better balance in both stillness and movement\nDiscussions around new research about proprioception that shows how it may help restore balance in cases of stroke\, Parkinson’s\, and other chronic conditions that affect walking\nHow to enhance proprioceptive awareness through asana practice\nHow to work with breath-based asana practice to progressively build better balance and stabilize your system from the core outward\nThe role of the foot in maintaining postural equilibrium as the foot moves from static placement to shifting balance in the activities of daily living\, such as walking\, stair climbing\, and reaching\nSimple steps you can take throughout the day to improve your balance\n\nThis course will be available through zoom recordings and digital for those who do not live closeby or may miss a class. Recordings will be available for 2 months after the program concludes. \nStudents will receive a workbook along with the course and this course qualifies for 10 CEUs with Yoga Alliance. CEU’s may also be available for Physical and Occupational Therapists. SUMMARY:Samskara & Synapse: Yoga to Rewire Your Brain w/ Timothy Burgin
DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if registering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registration\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org \n \nRecent studies in neurobiology reveal how yoga can influence the creation\, strengthening\, and changing of the brain’s neural pathways. In yoga\, our unconscious habit patterns are known as Samskaras. Yogis and modern science have found that when these habit patterns are repeated\, the brain’s synaptic connections strengthen and speed up. When these patterns are strong enough\, they run as automatic habits or our personal identity rather than conscious choices. Both yoga and modern neuroscience agree that these patterns can be changed. \nThis workshop offers a diverse toolkit of yoga practices: pranayama (breath control)\, asana (physical postures)\, kriya (a cleansing or energizing technique)\, mudra (hand gesture)\, Vairagya (non-attachment)\, Tapas (disciplined effort)\, and Drishti (focal point). These traditional techniques are informed by modern neurobiology research for their efficacy in rewiring unconscious and unhealthy patterns. \nWhat You Will Learn:– What samskaras are in yogic philosophy\, and how they relate to the neuroscience of conditioned neural pathways.– The basics of neuroplasticity\, how the brain is thought to form\, strengthen\, and reshape neural connections.– How breath practices\, mudras and Drishti (focal point) can each be used to down-regulate the nervous system.– How to use sustained isometric asana holds as engineered mastery experiences.– How Vairagya\, the practice of non-attachment\, can help dissolve an old pattern and make room for a new one.– How to use Tapas\, disciplined effort\, to strengthen a new synaptic pathway.– The importance of the neuroplastic pause\, the brief gap between a trigger and your habitual reaction.– How to strengthen your Interoception\, the ability to feel what’s happening inside the body. SUMMARY:Embodied Boundaries w/ Meredith Rosenbluth
DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if registering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registration\, or financial aid\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org  \nBoundaries are an essential component of building safety\, clarity\, respect\, and love in all relationships—including your relationship with yourself. And yet\, so often\, we struggle. \nFrom a somatic perspective\, difficulty implementing\, adhering to\, or receiving boundaries is not a character flaw. It is not the result of lack of willpower or knowledge about why boundaries are important. It is the result of a nervous system that is doing what it thinks it needs to do to keep you safe.  \nBeing able to assert healthy boundaries in your life is as much about clarity around your needs as it is about capacity in your nervous system—to hold discomfort\, to disappoint someone\, to believe your needs are valid. \nThis workshop will include lecture\, journaling\, group discussion\, and somatic activities to explore boundaries in a multifaceted and impactful way. \nThrough this workshop\, you will: \n✨ Do a deep dive into boundaries: different types\, what function they serve in relationships\, and how to handle the reactions they elicit✨ Learn about boundaries from a somatic (nervous system) perspective✨ Reflect on your personal relationship with boundaries: how they have been modeled to you\, how your body responds to them\, and how you assert them in your own life✨ Gain clarity around your true needs and wants\, and the ‘why’ behind your boundary patterns✨ Practice somatic exercises to help your system grow its capacity to hold boundaries (both implementing and receiving them)✨ Learn practical tools to create firm and loving boundaries in your life \nIf you struggle with asserting boundaries\, receiving boundaries\, or having your boundaries crossed\, you are not alone. Join this workshop to explore this essential and tender topic in respectful\, compassionate community\, where we will get at the root of boundary issues (the nervous system!) and learn and grow together. \nThis workshop is facilitated by somatic emotional health coach and educator\, Meredith Rosenbluth. Offering 1:1 coaching\, breathwork\, and group programs\, Meredith is devoted to cultivating attuned\, grounded\, vulnerable\, and joyful spaces to foster meaningful connection and personal transformation. All of you is welcome\, exactly as you are in any given moment\, always. You can learn more about Meredith’s private practice here. \nA testimonal from Meredith’s February 2026 workshop\, The Somatics of Trauma: “Meredith really made this class so amazing. I did not know exactly what to expect going in\, but the amount of information that was given was so digestible. Meredith presented it in a way that was easy to understand and apply to my own life. I really enjoyed that she presented agreements at the beginning of the class that set the tone for listening and sharing so that everyone felt comfortable. I left the class feeling like I could move forward with a new confidence in myself and in my body.” \nFor more information on Meredith\, please see her teacher profile here! Meredith teaches a weekly donation-based Meditation on Wednesdays from 1:15pm-1:45pm. \nCost: $30Financial Aid Available- Please stop by the front desk\, call\, or email kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org. \n \n \nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming. SUMMARY:The Power of Sensitivity w/ Meredith Rosenbluth
DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if registering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registration\, or financial aid\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org  \n  \nHigh sensitivity is a real thing. It’s not you being “too much\,” overly emotional\, or unnecessarily dramatic; it is a neurobiological trait that exists within 15-20% of the total population! We just aren’t taught about it\, and don’t live in a world set up to support those of us who experience the world this way. \nHigh sensitivity shows up through multiple pathways: depth of feeling\, complex mental processing\, sensory sensitivity\, and more. Do you know that you’re a highly sensitive person? Aren’t sure\, but think you might be? Know you aren’t\, but have people in your life who are? Great! This workshop is for all of you. \nThrough this workshop\, you will:✨ Learn why high sensitivity exists and how it is neurobiologically wired✨ Assess your personal degree and types of high sensitivity✨ Learn about the nuances of high sensitivity\, including the four distinct categories within the sensitivity trait✨ Explore the differences and overlaps between high sensitivity\, ADHD\, and autism✨ Have time to share personal experiences of being highly sensitive—challenges\, things you love\, life hacks you’ve developed—and receive wisdom from others✨ Gain practical tools and strategies to support your unique needs—in relationships\, environmentally\, and structurally in life✨ Feel belonging in kindred community and more confident navigating the world as a highly sensitive person \nIt can be deeply frustrating\, confusing\, and painful to experience life so wide open. It can also be profoundly beautiful and enriching. The key lies within knowing that:1) nothing is wrong with you2) high sensitivity actually contains so many amazing gifts\, and 3) you have different needs and ways of processing than the majority of people\, which deserve to (and can!) be supported. \nThrough this workshop\, you’ll get to learn\, discuss\, and grow alongside those who are built quite like you. \n Testimonials from Meredith’s workshop\, The Somatics of Conflict: \n“I deeply respected the depth and breadth of Meredith’s knowledge and the gentle\, clear and highly accessible way she shared her wisdom\, both when she was talking and responding to questions and comments.” \n“Meredith did a great job at holding a strong container and explaining concepts clearly. She has a lovely\, kind\, and compassionate energy to her teaching. Meredith’s ability to blend together a safe\, supportive space with a grounding\, healing dialogue was a true gift.” \nMeredith Rosenbluth is a somatic emotional health coach\, breathwork practitioner\, and astrologer\, devoted to cultivating attuned\, grounded\, deep\, and joyful spaces to foster meaningful connection and transformation. She specializes in providing one-on-one support for creatives\, empaths\, and highly sensitive people. You can learn more about her 1:1 coaching and group programs here. \nFor more information on Meredith\, please see her teacher profile here!
