SUMMARY:6 Week Balance Series                                                                                      for Falls Prevention w/ Diane Saccone
DESCRIPTION:(^ Please note this is not a one day event but a series course. Classes will be every Monday from Feb 20th- March 27th 2023\,  from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) \n\n\n\nat Asheville Community Yoga \n\n\n\nThis offering is currently full. Please email Sarah@AshevilleCommunityYoga.org to add your name to the waitlist. The next session of this offering will be held May 15th – June 19th.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFalls are the #1 cause of unintentional death in adults 65 andabove and a leading cause of death for adults living with chronicconditions such as heart disease. \n\n\n\nThis 6 week series works to improve balance\, build muscle strength\, flexibilityand mobility to enhance overall physical health\, which leads to better functioningin daily activities. Participation in the program may also result in better mentalhealth\, reduced stress\, improved memory and cognition\, and increasedself-esteem. \n\n\n\nThe program is taught in a safe and supported group setting which will provideparticipants the opportunity to feel engaged while having fun and making newfriends. \n\n\n\nDiane Saccone\, MS MT (ASACP) ERYT 500 spent the majority of her career in the field of Clinical Laboratory medicine changing careers after her move with her husband to Western North Carolina in 2005. She also developed the active older adult program at the YMCA of Western North Carolina where she served as the Director of Healthy Aging Initiatives and traveled through the Y of the USA as a subject matter expert on aging; lecturing and teaching evidence based falls prevention programs across the country. \n\n\n\nCost: $100 for entire course  \n\n\n\n(participants must register for entire series\, no drop-in attendance) \n\n\n\nFinancial Aid Available  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming.
