I was introduced to yoga in 2011 and ever since it has been an important form of therapy for me. It lives alongside the other healing practices that I keep in my “tool belt”, so to speak; practices like art, running, singing, that I reach for to soothe my aches, soften my edges, and slow down my mind. My interest in yoga has led me from Atlanta to India, to Thailand where I studied Thai yoga bodywork and ultimately here to Asheville where I studied at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. What a blessing it’s been to explore the body both through tactile manipulation in massage therapy and through the kinesthetics and postures of yoga. I am drawn to both the fluid intensity of warm vinyasa classes, as well as the stillness and depth of yin yoga. Regardless of the type of class I am leading, my goal is to create an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere where folks feel at home in the room and in their bodies.
