at Asheville Community Yoga
This workshop is an opportunity for members of the LGBTQ+ community to come together and cultivate safety, self-love, and community.
At a time where many are feeling afraid, angry, and highly disregulated due to the discriminatory legislation taking place across the country, we will prioritize rest and connection to the body, breath, and spirit. The overall intention is to create a space where queer/LGBTQ+ folks are able to settle into their bodies, soothe the mind, and soften the heart.
We’ll begin with group introductions (names + pronouns) then move into a slow, meditative practice, combining pranayama (breath-work), restorative yoga (modification + prop-heavy), and a body scan meditation. We will close with a circle where we’ll share any thoughts or reflections on our practice.
The workshop will be led by Ariel (she/they), a queer non-binary LatinX person passionate about the benefits of yoga and its inherent connection to social justice.
Cost: Donation based (with no minimum amount required)
*This workshop is open to Queer/ LQBTQ folks only
