I have done yoga off and on for 20 years. But in 2016, while in the midst of caring for my mom, I found Asheville Community Yoga and truly connected with yoga and realized the depth of what yoga can bring to your life – that yoga is so much more than poses on a mat. It has been life changing ever since. I have been a caregiver most of my life. Professionally, as a registered nurse for the past 34 years. And personally, through caring for several family members during their journey through the last phase of their lives. As a caregiver, finding ways to care for myself and remain resilient is so important but can also be very challenging to maintain.

The desire to deepen my own practice led me to the 250 hour yoga teacher training at Asheville Community Yoga which I completed in June 2019.  After experiencing the continued transformation through yoga, I feel called to share this beautiful practice with others. It is one of my passions to encourage and teach others both the importance of self care and ways to care for themselves. I am also incredibly grateful to Asheville Community Yoga and feel honored and privileged to be able to teach here and give back to a community that has given me so much.
