Ryan Smith

Ryan first discovered yoga in 2016. As an avid runner and distance athlete, he was immediately drawn to its physical and mental health benefits. Working in a high stress job for many years, yoga had become a sanctuary for him. It began to transform his lifestyle and he was far more in tune with the pace of nature and the life around him.  After moving full-time to Asheville, he found Asheville Community Yoga and felt an instant connection with the community. He began volunteering at the front desk and after several years, decided it was time to share his passion and connection with his practice. He is still a regular volunteer with ACY and also truly loves to dedicate his free time to the studio and furthering his practice.  It wasn’t until Ryan attended the Asheville Community Yoga Teacher Training that he was able to not only deepen his personal practice but also truly understand the connection with the mind, body, and breath.  He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and journey with everyone.
