Alignment 101 w/ Dana Maria

We’ll explore alignment as a way to create stability, ease, and freedom in your practice, rather than forcing your body into a perfect shape. Whether you’re new to yoga or refining your practice, you’ll leave with tools to move with greater confidence and awareness. *3 CE credits for registered yoga teachers

Yoga poses don’t have alignment—people do. 

Ever wonder why we do the poses the way we do them? Or why the posture doesn’t quite land in your body? Want to deepen your personal practice with a better understanding of the asana limb of yoga?

Join us for a 3-hour all-levels workshop where we’ll explore how to create alignment that works for your body. We’ll move through the poses typically found in any Gentle or Vinyasa class to really get to the heart of how your body can land in each posture, and fully understand the difference between discomfort and pain. 

We will unlock the full potential of your practice and discover how props can bring more comfort, support, and empowerment to your yoga journey.

Through mindful movement, and practical techniques, you’ll learn how to:

-Adapt poses to fit your unique structure
-Find stability and ease in your practice
-Reduce strain and prevent injury
-Cultivate awareness of your body’s natural alignment. 

Each asana has its own specific benefits and goals. For example:

    • Easy Pose: Promotes grounding and stretches hips and back.

    • Cat/Cow: Warms up the spine and increases mobility.

    • Downward Dog: Stretches and strengthens, elevates your mood.

    • Warrior Poses: Builds strength, balance, and flexibility, while cultivating mental focus.

This workshop is about how yoga feels, not how it looks.

It is perfect for anyone looking to refine their practice, build confidence, and move with greater freedom. All bodies and experience levels welcome!

PLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming. Registering in advance guarantees your spot and helps the studio have adequate staffing. If fewer than 5 participants register the event may be canceled.

Refund Policy: We understand that life happens and unforeseen circumstances come up. If life offers up an unexpected event and you need to withdraw from the workshop:

  • A full refund will be issued if you need to withdraw 4+ days before the workshop. Please reach out for your refund, as it will not be automatically applied to your account.
  • If you need to withdraw within 3 days or fewer, no refund is provided.

Late Policy: Doors will close at the workshop start time. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop start time to ensure there is ample time to park, check in and settle in to your space. We do have a 10 minute grace period, and we encourage you to call the studio to let us know if you are running behind. If you are later than 10 minutes after the start of the workshop, there is a chance you will not be able to enter and no refund will be given.
