Post-Traumatic Growth Yoga w/ Margaret Kirschner

Simple, slow, yoga practices to restore your nervous system to balance after trauma. You will receive a full toolbox of skills and an understanding of why they work. You'll explore movement, breathing, mindfulness and vocal toning practices, along with positive phrases to counter previous disruptive thoughts.

Post-traumatic growth yoga refers to the positive changes that can occur after experiencing a traumatic event (for example, a hurricane, a move, loss of a job, or relationship challenges). Post-traumatic growth is a phenomenon where you not only cope, but also emerge with a sense of enhanced well-being, resilience, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

In this workshop, you’ll explore gentle, slow, yoga practices to clear and restore your nervous system back to balance after trauma. You will walk away with trauma-informed skills to help yourself, or your clients emerge from the chaos with a full toolbox to support growth. Some practices will be calming and others energizing. You will hear why it works, then explore movement, breathing, visualizations, and vocal toning practices. You’ll be invited to discern your intention for your next step with a quick journaling exercise to counter any previous maladaptive thoughts. Time for questions and a take-home summary of the practices will be provided.
