Therapeutic Yoga for Back Health with Diane Saccone (In-Person and Virtual)

Therapeutic Yoga for Back Health has been designed for anyone living with back pain. In this workshop, we will discuss how body mechanics along with stress is the cause for most of our back pain. We will review poses to reduce pain, help heal injuries and learn ways to keep back pain at bay. A workbook will be provided.

Body mechanics and proper alignment play important roles in healing back pain.

In this workshop, we will learn how to release and properly stretch and tone stressed joints, muscles and fascia so that the body works more efficiently and we reduce the risk of back injury and re-injury. 

The mind also plays a big role in back pain.  We will discuss how stress and breath can negatively affect the health of the back and how to use the breath to heal back pain. This workshop is designed for anyone living with back pain or injury and is perfect for all ages.  A workbook will be provided.

Please note: 2 CEUs will be provided towards Yoga Alliance.

This workshop is a hybrid, offering in-person and virtual. Please select the appropriate link below. If you are unable to attend on the day of the workshop, you can sign up for virtual, and you will have access to the recording after the official class time. 

Diane Saccone, MS MT (ASACP) ERYT 500 spent the majority of her career in the field of Clinical Laboratory medicine changing careers after her move with her husband to Western North Carolina in 2005. She also developed the active older adult program at the YMCA of Western North Carolina where she served as the Director of Healthy Aging Initiatives and traveled through the Y of the USA as a subject matter expert on aging; lecturing and teaching evidence based falls prevention programs across the country. If you are planning to sign up for Virtual, please note that the registration window will close on Thursday, March 12th. If you would like to sign-up after this date, please call the studio so they can add you in and send you the link to join.

PLEASE NOTE: We encourage pre-registration for all programming. Registering in advance guarantees your spot and helps the studio have adequate staffing. If fewer than 5 participants register the event may be canceled.

Refund Policy: We understand that life happens and unforeseen circumstances come up. If life offers up an unexpected event and you need to withdraw from the workshop: 

  • A full refund will be issued if you need to withdraw 4+ days before the workshop. Please reach out for your refund, as it will not be automatically applied to your account.
    • If you need to withdraw within 3 days or fewer, no refund is provided.

    Late Policy: Doors will close at the workshop start time. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop start time to ensure there is ample time to park, check in and settle in to your space. We do have a 10 minute grace period, and we encourage you to call the studio to let us know if you are running behind. If you are later than 10 minutes after the start of the workshop, there is a chance you will not be able to enter and no refund will be given.
