Come Honor and Celebrate the RENEWAL and ALIVENESS
that AWAKENS with the Spring Season!
Springtime is here, bringing a sense of aliveness & refreshment to the Earth. As we step into Spring, we also step into the realm of the Maiden archetype for women. She is here to lead us through this season, inspire us, bring us joy, & exert an energy of excitement & curiosity into our lives.
The Maiden is a young woman, full of curiosity & hopefulness for the future. She is learning who she is, ready to jump into experiencing life, enraptured with curiosity, & willing to give new things a try. The Maiden is within us all & during the season of Spring, we find access to her very easily.
Join Johanna with Womxn in the Pines for a special gathering as we tap into the Maiden archetype within ourselves to find inspiration & play this season. Learn about the Maiden, participate in seasonal ritual, & enjoy guided discussion, yoga, journal work, + more. Sink into seasonal alignment in a safe space with sisters to support you.
Establishing an independent home practice is a rite of passage for yoga practitioners. It's the point at which you really learn to move at your own pace, listen and respond to your body, and develop greater consistency and frequency in your yoga practice. Practicing on your own empowers you and gives you new freedom to explore. But that freedom can be overwhelming until you're comfortable with the tools at hand and know how to get from one place to another. In this 2 hour all levels workshop we will learn some basic building blocks that will aid in putting together your own sequences and approach your home practice with confidence.
STRENGTHEN & STABILIZE YOUR PRACTICE TO BUILD SAFETY & CONFIDENCE. Asanas Don’t Have Alignment, People Have Alignment - asanas don’t exist separate from the individuals doing them. In this 2 hour all levels workshop we will slow down the most commonly used yoga postures to properly align and make more accessible. We will explore modifications to suit your body and how to use props to support your practice. Through discussion and demonstration we will discover how to practice yoga more safely and skillfully.
Of the many props available for your yoga practice, the wall is one of the most relatively available prop within our home and studio spaces. By offering comfort and support for the body to release in restorative postures. The wall provides stability, balance, and even the potential to deepen into a stretch. Encouraging more safety and greater security for the body when learning inversions, as well as offering building blocks to variations. Arm balances can also find the support of the wall, freeing us with each attempt of our fears and doubts within the mind. Helpful in finding alignment as well as a reminder to keep certain body parts active; the wall can enhance your overall practice.
It is estimated that up to 84 percent of adults have low back pain at some time in their lives.
The good news means you are not alone! Lower back pain can happen for many different
reasons, yet how we move, sleep, and sit can dramatically impact our backs' health. Often,
proper balancing of the deep flexor muscles of the “core” with the extensor muscles of the
lower back/pelvis can improve low back pain—and yoga is a wonderful medium for this to
occur! This two-hour workshop will give you some tools and practices to alleviate/prevent and
troubleshoot lower back pain.
An array of things can contribute to tightness in the hips & hamstrings; running, stress, sitting, even simple daily activities such as walking! We often carry patterns within our movements, not all of which are good or healthy for our bodies. Restrictions within these regions can cause significant discomfort, even pain.
By better understanding our anatomy, our postural & movement habits, as well as the mechanics of Yoga poses, we can begin to unravel held tension in the hips & hamstrings, creating space for energy to flow more freely throughout the body.
We successfully raised $150,000 through our community fundraiser!
