Monthly Service Projects
At Asheville Community Yoga, we believe in the power of community and the transformative impact of service. Our slogan, “Freedom Through Service,” reflects the heart of what we do—empowering ourselves and others through acts of kindness, connection, and giving back. It’s not just about rolling out your mat; it’s about coming together to make a positive impact. Yoga is so much more than a physical practice, and Seva (selfless service) is a huge part of our philosophy.
As an organization that relies on the support of volunteers, we understand the importance of mutual aid and community service. That’s why we facilitate monthly service projects in collaboration with other local nonprofits and organizations to extend the support we have to the greater Asheville/WNC community. These projects are an opportunity to connect, give back, and make a difference. Whether it’s helping build homes, cleaning up local parks, or packing meals for those in need, we aim to engage with the community in meaningful ways.
All are welcome, and we encourage you to bring your friends, family, and fellow yoga enthusiasts to join us in making a positive difference!
Want to join us for our next service project?
We’d love to have you with us as we continue to give back to the community that has supported us.
It’s a great way to get involved, connect with like-minded individuals, and give back to the place we all call home. Together, we’re creating freedom through service and making a lasting impact!
March Service Project:
Asheville Humane Society
Since 1984, Asheville Humane Society has dedicated itself to ensuring every animal has the quality of life they deserve—a life worth living. Now, we go beyond our walls to help create a more humane community for pets and the people who love them.
Join ACY on Wednesday, March 25th from 10am-12pm in supporting Asheville Humane Society’s Enrichment Program!
The AHS Enrichment Program was created to provide in-kennel enrichment for the dogs in our care and has now expanded to also benefit cats and small animals. Enrichment enhances the quality of animals’ lives while they are at the shelter. It reduces stress, anxiety and boredom and helps promote the human-animal bond. All shelter animals benefit from enrichment programs and are especially helpful for long-term residents.
Volunteers are essential to this program. Additionally, volunteers may help with various tasks based on the needs of our organization at the time. You will also get a tour of the Adoption Center and some animal interaction, depending on the animals available.
