At Asheville Community Yoga we believe that yoga is for everyone—and every body. That’s why we offer a diverse range of specialty classes designed to support different communities, life stages, and healing journeys. Whether you’re looking for gentle movement, deep rest, soulful connection, or a space that embraces your identity, we’ve created offerings with you in mind.

Our specialty classes go beyond the physical practice of yoga. They’re about creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces where people can show up exactly as they are. From sessions tailored to seniors and youth, to gatherings for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, and healing practices like Yoga for Cancer Recovery or Energy Medicine, each class is rooted in care, accessibility, and community.

We also recognize that yoga is more than movement—it’s a path to connection, resilience, and belonging. That’s why we host circles, support prenatal and postpartum journeys, and offer restorative sessions accompanied by powerful tools like sound healing and meditation.

Weekly Specialty Offerings

Every week, we’re proud to offer a consistent lineup of specialty classes that reflect the needs and diversity of our community. These classes are held with care and intention, guided by experienced instructors who create supportive spaces for exploration, healing, and connection.

Our current weekly specialty classes include:

  • Yoga for Seniors – gentle movement and breath to support mobility, balance, and overall well-being

  • Chair Yoga – accessible yoga for those with limited mobility or anyone seeking a grounded, seated practice

  • Queer/2SLGBTQIA+ Yoga – a safer space for queer, trans, and gender-diverse folks to practice and connect

  • Qigong – flowing movements and breathwork to cultivate energy and inner harmony

  • Energy Medicine Yogaan integrative yoga practice accessible to students of all levels. The practice includes asana poses, breathwork, meditation, and Energy Medicine techniques

  • Yoga for Cancer Recovery – nurturing support through movement, breath, and rest during or after treatment

  • Yoga for Beginners – a welcoming and accessible class designed to introduce the foundations of yoga; breath, movement, and mindfulness; in a supportive environment for all bodies and experience levels
  • Kundalini Yoga – dynamic breath, mantra, and movement for spiritual and energetic awakening

  • Yoga for Veterans- a space to support physical, mental & emotional well-being through breath, movement & mindfulness

  • Women’s Circle – a space for connection, reflection, and shared wisdom in community

  • Men’s Circle – an intentional gathering for men to connect, reflect, and support one another

  • Prenatal Yoga – gentle, supportive movement for pregnancy at all stages

  • Youth Yoga – playful, mindful movement and breath practices for kids and teens

  • Didgeridoo Restorative Yoga – deeply restful postures supported by the grounding resonance of live didgeridoo & other instruments

  • Meditation – a practice of focusing the mind and calming the body to cultivate awareness, clarity, and inner peace
  • Meditation & Vocalization– blend of voice and meditation to release stress, energize your spirit & reclaim peace
