I first encountered yoga through classes at a studio in my hometown over 14 years ago.  All my life, I have been athletic, but yoga offered a different, deeper connection to my body than any sport I’d ever tried.  Over the years, my relationship with yoga has evolved; at times I have left the mat for periods of time to focus on other forms of exercise.  About five years ago, after a series of injuries from years of high-intensity exercise left me feeling discouraged and defeated, I came home to yoga, and it has become a part of my daily mental and physical self-care.  The practice has offered me a way to rehabilitate my body and strengthen my spirit.  In 2019, I completed my 250-hour teacher training at Asheville Community Yoga. I feel the benefits of my daily practice as I move through the ups and downs of life, and I am drawn to share the practice of yoga in hopes that others could feel those benefits as well.
