Kelly Meyer

Dr. Kelly Meyer, DACM, L.Ac. is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Certified
Acutonics® Practitioner, and the founder of Auria Lumé Healing Arts in Asheville.
Before becoming a Chinese medicine practitioner, Kelly taught Iyengar Yoga for more than a
decade. This background gave her a deep appreciation for the ways alignment, posture,
movement, and habitual tension patterns influence the breath, nervous system, and our overall
experience of being in the body.
Her work today brings together Chinese medicine, acupuncture, bodywork, breath and
movement practices, meditation, and subtle energetic approaches. At the heart of both her
clinical work and teaching is an interest in helping people develop a more intimate awareness of
themselves—not simply learning another technique but becoming able to recognize their own
patterns and discover what creates greater balance, openness, and ease.

This gentle, experiential class explores the relationship between the body, breath, and mind as a
pathway into greater ease, awareness, and presence.
Each week, we will begin by arriving in the body through simple movement, postural awareness,
or gentle opening practices that help create space for a more natural and easeful breath and
sitting practice. From there, we will gradually turn inward, exploring breath awareness,
meditation, and subtle practices that invite the nervous system to settle and the mind to become
quieter.
Rather than asking the breath or body to conform to a particular technique, the emphasis is on
curiosity: compassionately noticing where we hold tension, how habitual patterns influence the
way we breathe and feel, and what happens when we gently create more space and ease through
simply being aware of the body as it naturally breathes.
Practices may draw from Kelly’s background in Iyengar Yoga, Chinese medicine, Daoist
practices, breathwork, and meditation. Classes will be beneficial for both beginning and
experienced practitioners.
The intention is not simply to have a peaceful hour, but to develop awareness and practices that
can carry into daily life and our other spiritual and body-based practices, helping us meet
ourselves and the world with a little more spaciousness, steadiness, and calm.
No previous meditation or breathwork experience is necessary.
