Kelsey’s yoga practice began in 2013, at a community-focused and welcoming ashtanga-based studio in New Orleans. She spent years volunteering there, building community and deepening her relationship with the asanas, pranayama and mindfulness. It was only natural that after she, her partner, and their two dogs moved to Asheville, she would find Asheville Community Yoga. Since 2022, she’s been a part of the community, volunteering and practicing on a regular basis. In February 2023, she completed her first 200-hour Certified Yoga Alliance program in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
Her teaching style leans on the playful side, blending lighthearted humor with encouragement to find what feels best for you on any given day. Expect options to find ways to challenge yourself in your practice- either by gently scaling up, or encouraging yourself to slow down. Outside of the studio, you can find her probably thrifting, dancing, or outside, specifically in or around water, and/or with dogs. These days, you can find her in most any style class, flowing along with the community of ACY. When not at the studio, she enjoys dancing, sharing meals with friends, and being outside, specifically in or around water, and/or with dogs.
