My yoga journey began because of back pain. I was overweight, not active enough and my body was telling me it needed a change.  After committing to an almost daily practice at Asheville Community Yoga, I started to feel relief–by expanding my body, strengthening my spine and core and learning to love my body for what it is, I began to feel hope.  And then a funny thing happened, my yoga practice began to reveal the many layers it can offer in terms of peace, self-awareness, and kindness to all beings. I started to see how I could incorporate this more into my daily life and how I relate to other humans. I learned how to cope with life’s challenges in new ways. It moved beyond a physical practice to one of joy and contentment and I wanted more of that.  My hope now is to guide others to feel the transformation that I have.  To encourage those who feel they are not able to practice yoga and assure them they absolutely can. And to share all that I have learned so we may bring more peace and kindness into the world.  I’m grateful and honored to have the opportunity to share all that yoga has to offer with you.
