Yoga + Community Circle For Queer/ LGBTQ Folks w/ Ariel Garcia

Asheville Community Yoga 8 Brookdale Rd, Asheville, North Carolina, United States

This workshop is an opportunity for members of the LGBTQ+ community to come together and cultivate safety, self-love, and community.

At a time where many are feeling afraid, angry, and highly disregulated due to the discriminatory legislation taking place across the country, we will prioritize rest and connection to the body, breath, and spirit. The overall intention is to create a space where queer/LGBTQ+ folks are able to settle into their bodies, soothe the mind, and soften the heart.

Unlock The Power of Intention with Yoga Nidra w/ Kathy Reardon

Asheville Community Yoga 8 Brookdale Rd, Asheville, North Carolina, United States

Guide yourself from a place of peace. Relax, really relax with the powerful practice of Yoga Nidra. In this guided meditative journey we will quiet the mind and tap into our wholeness. During this inward movement you are invited to let go of negative past patterns, so the light of your true nature shines through. In this deep state your intention is easily called into awareness. In this workshop we will explore the basics of Yoga Nidra, followed by a brief Yoga Nidra experience to illustrate and inspire the use of intention. You will focus your energy toward creating a powerful individual intention, which will become your North Star, especially in times of challenge. Together we will journal, playfully put our desires into words, and share our insights if we so choose. The workshop will close with a Yoga Nidra session designed to empower your self-created intention. My vision for this workshop is to introduce each participant to their ability to create the life which best expresses who they really are: Divine!

Chant Your Heart- An Introduction to Mantra w/ Rian Austin

Asheville Community Yoga 8 Brookdale Rd, Asheville, North Carolina, United States

Mantra is a powerful tool to liberate the mind and heart. The root of the word, mantra, is manas (mind) + tra (to protect). When we gather in community to chant, we bring this practice to life. We always leave a little brighter.
In this workshop, you will be introduced to a variety of mantras and their significance. You will cultivate the power of your voice. You will experience mantra as meditation and as celebration. As we chant, these sacred sounds resonate deep in our consciousness. They guide us home.
You may be playing with mantra for the first time or rekindling a consistent practice; just bring your authentic presence. Chant your heart and know the joy of sacred sound!

“The Power of The Circle” – A Collaborative Leadership & Yoga Training For Women w/ Luna Ray

Asheville Community Yoga 8 Brookdale Rd, Asheville, North Carolina, United States

For thousands of years people have gathered in circles to heal, learn, thrive and sustain harmony in community.  The circles hold space for listening to your own heart of wisdom and healing on a deeper level. This space doesn't critique and is not intended to be intellectually analyzing or deconstructing but hearing spiritually. I believe our current culture is asking us to use the old ways to support a new paradigm of being and working together.  As we learn and lead in this new way, we bring with us more peace, connection and healing in these challenging times.

Yield to Yin- An Extended Yin Yoga workshop w/ Crista Ellis

Asheville Community Yoga 8 Brookdale Rd, Asheville, North Carolina, United States

This is not your average yin class. This is a potent practice where the challenge is cultivating strength and flexibility in relationship with your mind and body. Poses will be low to the floor, holding anywhere from 3-12 minutes. This extended yin yoga workshop will allow us the time to explore and understand our physical boundaries. We will have the space to safely approach edges and decipher where and when to challenge self-limiting boundaries.
Together, we will cultivate a tender approach to practice patience, breathe deeply, and illuminate the depths within.
